Andy Newell, Alex VanBergeijk, Andrew Bean, David Hammes and Adam Scarzo perform on April 24, 2010 in Indianapolis

Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana—"The Crossroads of America"—Andrew Bean and the Lady Apollo take their unique geographic location and transpose that into an equally unique blend of music.  With comparisons made to “Jeff Buckley on E-Street” and “Ryan Adams fronting the Eagles,” ABLA takes the broad cross-section of rock music and its forbears and creates a cohesive sound that is reminiscent but still conscious of the present moment.

The band integrates the best aspects of blues, mid-twentieth century country, and rock n’ roll into concise but dynamic song forms with Bean’s evocative storytelling providing an imaginative landscape of classic Americana themes and wide-eyed romanticism.  This refined songcraft paired with a kinetic live show borrowing as much from theatrical performance as it does punk rock energy makes ABLA a band to watch in 2010.  The band released its debut album, The Wreckage of My Youth, on April 24, 2010.
